Literacy stations in Ms. Gulliver's classroom: 8 stations around the room with different activities - proofreading, matching synonyms, book tasting, essay writing, etc. This helps the teacher know what the student's literacy needs are. It allows the students the chance to practice and review concepts they have been working on. Grammar and writing can be quite dry - these stations bring fun and creativity to the subject!

Have you been to our Morrison Cafe run by Tim Heebner? Stop by in the mornings!
"I lived in Taiwan from 1993 to 1995, which at that time I met my wife, Grace (who is now an EMS Chinese teacher at Morrison). We got married and lived in the U.S. for 18 years where I worked in Information Technology. In 2012 I wanted a change from my desk job, so we moved back to Taiwan. At that time I started my roasting company, First Crack Roasting, selling freshly roasted coffee beans. We have three children, two in college in the U.S. and one is a junior here at Morrison.
I didn't drink a cup of coffee until I was over 40 years old. Growing up, my parents would drink really bad, cheap coffee each morning, and I never understood why anyone would drink coffee. But one year our good friends, Don and Marla Bettinger, were visiting us, and Don introduced me to home roasted specialty coffee. I never realized that you could roast your own coffee and that there is so much flavor and complexity to freshly roasted specialty coffee.
In 2014 the school was in the middle of a capital campaign for the new track and pool, and they approached me to help them open a morning cafe at school which would cater to parents to encourage them to hang out and feel more in touch with the school. The cafe has been open ever since, serving parents, teachers, and students. The operating hours are 7:30 - 10:00am each school day." ... See MoreSee Less

Congressional Simulation! Isn't it great that the students are learning how leaders of countries and nations make decisions for their people? Impact and Change starts with Awareness and Action. (Take a look at Ms. McCoskey's government class)
A two week simulation where students take on the role of being a member of the US Senate of US House of Representatives with the goal of trying to create a law. Students create and maintain a website in order to communicate with their constituents. During class, they introduce bills they write, debate and revise them in committee, and participate in debate during floor action. They have to negotiate with members of their own chamber (class period) and work with the other chamber (different period). With only two days left in the Congressional term, will any bills make it to the President's desk? ... See MoreSee Less
