Jay Gentry

Jay Gentry was known as Mr. Cool. His poise under pressure was his greatest strength. His teammates saw this quality, voting him captain for varsity soccer, basketball, and tennis senior years. His soccer play was stellar on two of Morrison stronger teams, winning MVP honors his senior year. He is one of only two players in Morrison history to have scored off a throw in. He was the playmaker in basketball his junior and senior year, leading the team to a Hong Kong championship and a 30-2 record his senior year. Jay was a four-sport man with the following accomplishments on the all-time lists: #3 in high jump, 189 cm (won city); #4 in basketball season assists with 5.4 per game; and #10 in total career assists with 174.
