|Phonics/Grammar||The phonograms from Lesson 9 (au, aw, and augh) will be reviewed. Students will complete a spelling analysis of words containing these.|
|Reading Workshop||Our character unit will continue with students examining their character’s point of view. Often, characters change their point of view from the beginning to the end of a story.|
|Writing Workshop||Students will make final revisions and edits to one of their personal narratives. These will then be copied into a final draft with students’ best handwriting and color illustrations. These will be assessed.|
|Math||Thanks for being patient when the “My Assignment” portion of Education Galaxy did not work for online learning. I also appreciate all the students being flexible and switching to “My Study Plan” and still getting some math practice. I am very proud of you.
This week, we will finish our unit on Fraction and work on practicing and reassessing benchmarks learned this year.
|Science||Students will explore the different ways God designed plants to disperse their seeds.|
|Chapel||There will not be a chapel for K2 students this week. Mrs. Lima will lead a 3-5 chapel in the commons basement. Parents are always welcomed to attend.|
|Tidbits||Community Track Meet Come cheer on our high school track athletes, as well as our community track participants Monday at 4pm.
Elementary Soccer Soccer for K2 students will begin this Wednesday after school.
Field Trip Our field trip is just around the corner. Unfortunately, with my very limited Chinese I am unable to make the arrangements. I am looking for a parent with awesome Chinese speaking skills to help. Please send me an email or stop in and see me after school if you can help!
And Speaking of Field Trips We love having our parents share and experience our hands-on learning! If you plan on accompanying us on our field trips this year, please make sure you are up to date with our Child Protection Safety protocols. These must be updated every year and only take 15 to 20 minutes to complete. Parents who have not completed the video will not be permitted to accompany the class. Stop by the office and see either Mrs. Sawatzky or Mrs. Edwards.
