* This is a core verse for 2nd grade. Students will need to recite the verse by memory by Friday!
Books of the New Testament: Ephesians and Philippians
Faith Hero: Students will complete a timeline of Daniel’s life. We will also discuss our next VFOL (Vision For Our Learners). It is Morrison’s desire to see all students develop into critical and creative thinkers. Daniel was an excellent example of a critical and creative thinker!
|Phonics/Grammar||Before our spelling assessment on Thursday, students will review our spelling patterns (a, au, aw, and augh). Possessive noun adjectives will also be introduced.|
|Reading Workshop||Students will determine the text features of fiction texts. These include characters, setting, problem, and solution.|
|Writing Workshop||We will continue discovering and applying different strategies for having good word choices in our narratives.|
|Math||Students finished the Fractions Unit last week. This week, we will continue an overall review of this year’s math and reassess as needed.|
|Science||We will continue our plant adventures by drawing a model of another way animals may help seeds travel away from their parent plant.|

Field Trip We love having our parents share and experience our hands-on learning! If you plan on accompanying us on our field trips this year, please make sure you are up to date with our Child Protection Safety protocols. These must be updated every year and only take 15 to 20 minutes to complete. Parents who have not completed the video will not be permitted to accompany the class. Stop by the office and see either Mrs. Sawatzky or Mrs. Edwards.
Parent Teacher Conferences Parent Teacher Conferences will be Friday, March 22. Please call or contact the office to set up a time. On that day, there will not be school for all EMS students.
