Remember, Easter vacation is next week. Enjoy your time off while remembering Jesus’ sacrifice for us!
Global 6K for Water
I encourage all students and their families to sign up for this fun and meaningful event that will be held at Morrison on Saturday, May 18th. By signing up at http://gg.gg/6k4water19 and paying the registration fee, you can help provide clean, safe, and convenient drinking water for communities in Africa where people would otherwise have to walk about 6 kilometers a day to fetch it. Help change someone’s life by joining in the Global 6K for Water!
Happy Birthday …
… to Jonathan and Abigail! He’s turning eleven today, and she will this Friday.
Here’s what we’ll be Learning This Week:
Bible – We will be reading and discussing passages about Easter. We’ll also make tracts and learn to use them to tell people about Jesus. There is no memory verse this week.
Language Arts – We’ll learn to make writing smoother by combining sentences. Students will complete the stories they have been working on and edit each other’s. We’ll use our biography of Jackie Robinson to learn to spot an author’s opinion.
Spelling – No spelling this week.
Math – We’ll learn about using logical reasoning, as well as how to measure and convert “customary” (American) and metric units of weight and capacity.
Science – We’ll learn about night and day and apparent motion.
Social Studies – We’ll review the Battle of the Alamo and then focus on the various trails that American settlers took as they travelled west across the country.
