Lines from Mrs. Lima 2-25-2019

Short Week

Remember, this Thursday is a half day, and there is no school on Friday. Enjoy the long weekend!

Distance Learning

Don’t forget that we’re doing “distance learning” this Thursday morning. Students will work at home and are still expected to complete a morning’s worth of schoolwork! They must have access to the internet that day and are expected to go to the school’s distance learning page at the start of the day to find out their assignments. I will be available on email throughout the morning if students need to contact me with any questions.

Happy Birthday …

… to Winston and Ryder! Winston is turning eleven today, and Ryder on Saturday.

Here’s what we’ll be Learning This Week:

Bible – We are studying Lesson 23, about King Solomon and his great wisdom. Our memory verse is II Corinthians 5:17, which says, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here! Please note that the verse test will be on Wednesday.

Language Arts – Students will design a storyboard in preparation for making a comic strip! They’ll also practice using correct grammar and sentence structure by doing lessons on their Quill accounts online.

Math – Students will learn to add and subtract fractions from whole numbers. They should begin study for next Tuesday’s mid-unit assessment.

Spelling – No spelling this week.

Science – We’ll learn about Earth’s resources and how humans impact the land and vegetation.

Social Studies – This week we’ll focus on the Louisiana Purchase: what it was, why it was important to America, and how Lewis and Clark explored it.
