|Phonics/Grammar||Students will complete the spelling analysis for Lesson 8. The assessment will be Monday, February 25. .|
|Reading Workshop||Students will explore how a character’s emotions change throughout a story.|
|Writing Workshop||Students will explore strategies to add an excellent ending to their personal narratives.|
|Math||Second grade will continue to work on fractions this week. Students are learning how to divided objects into halves, thirds, and fourths.|
|Science||Our physical science unit continues as the second graders explore the effects of heat or cold on different types of matter. Some of these are reversible while others are not.|

|Tidbits||Star Student- Jing
After School Any student whose parents, or adult supervisor, is not on school grounds at the time of dismissal should either be in the library or the atrium area. Students, with parental supervision, are permitted to play in the playground and small soccer field. Students, even if parents are on campus, should not be in any area except those listed above. Wheels (scooters, skateboards, bicycles) are permitted on the weekends. The plaza is always a no wheel zone. Please help us keep everyone safe by making sure your child abides by these procedures.
Distance Learning Thursday, February 28 will be Morrison’s Distance Learning day. Students will remain home and complete several online activities. More information will be provided next week.
No School Friday, March 1 will be a professional learning day for the Morrison teachers. Students will have the day off!
