We’ve reached the 6th week of the quarter and it’s time to pause momentarily. The mid-quarter mark serves as a time to alert parents when students’ product grades (academic content) are at the remediation level (K5) or have fallen below 73% (MS). In addition to this general invite from me to visit PowerSchool, our administrative assistants will also send a specific email to you if a teacher submitted a comment to communicate any concerns. (Note: A teacher comment constitutes a progress report.)
The first five weeks of quarter one is probably the hardest grading period of the school year. No grades and/or no comments therefore simply mean we haven’t gathered sufficient data at this point. The quarter one report card will deliver all we promised at the Meet the Teacher Night. For your convenience, here’s my presentation again. I’m more than happy to meet with you to continue to explain our SBE vision. Furthermore, if you have any questions about your child’s progress at this time, I encourage you to schedule an appointment with the teacher.

Moon Festival Celebration from the EMS Chinese Department 中文部中秋節文化活動
We are so excited that Moon Festival is coming soon. Are you all ready to celebrate this special holiday with family and friends?
Moon Festival is one of the biggest holidays in Chinese culture. Our Chinese department will continue our tradition to celebrate this special holiday with all students. Since there are so many different types/flavors of mooncakes, we welcome any extra mooncakes donated from Morrison families. You can have your child bring them to their classroom or drop them off at the front office (labeled “EMS Chinese”). This way, we all get to try different styles of moon cakes and celebrate the holiday on Oct. 3 & 4 together. The Chinese Department will purchase pomelos, a Moon Festival fruit, for each student. We will enjoy the fruit and make some crafts with the fruit. Thanks for your support. Please see the pictures from last year celebration 🙂
